New Leadership for the Academy from September 2020

A message from Mark Talbot (Diocese of Chichester Academies Trust) and John Murray (Chair of Governors)

A letter has been sent via email to all parents today with an important update about the leadership structure next year at St Leonards CE Primary Academy.

We are pleased to announce that Richard White, one of the Trust’s most experienced Headteachers, has been successful in securing the role of Executive Headteacher across both St Paul’s CE Primary Academy and Nursery and St Leonard’s CE Primary Academy from September. He will be supported in this role by a Head of School in both schools. Richard is currently the Headteacher of St Paul’s CE Primary Academy and Nursery in Hastings, a high-performing primary school in the town, with significant track record of success. The school has consistently performed in the top 20% of all schools nationally.

As many of you will know, Marie Burgess has been the Headteacher of St Leonards since 2015, having previously been the school’s Deputy Headteacher since 2013. Marie has decided to stand down as a leader within the school to focus on other opportunities elsewhere. I am sure you will join us in thanking Marie for the dedication and commitment to St Leonards and its community over the past seven years, and wish her all the very best for the future.

Mr White will write to parents before the beginning of term to introduce himself. We have arranged a parent/carer meeting to be held on Friday, 4 September at 10:00am, where we will answer any questions you might have.

Please click to read the letter.

Kind regards
