St. Leonard's CEP Academy

"Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it" Proverb 22:6

Medical Information

Our Academy is an inclusive community that aims to support pupils with medical conditions, both emotionally and academically.

We are committed to ensuring that the Academy is welcoming and supportive to pupils with medical conditions who currently attend and to those who may enrol in the future, and recognise the essential role of communication with parents and carers with regards to a child's medical needs.

If your child has an existing medical need, we will work in collaboration with you to create an Individual Health Care Plan (IHCP) which is reviewed on an annual basis, unless needs change.

We are also supported by the East Sussex School Health Service. Parents and carers can self-refer to this service for help and advice with a range of issues, including:

  • daytime and night time wetting and soiling
  • behaviour management
  • healthy eating and lifestyle
  • emotional health and wellbeing
  • puberty and growing up
  • sleep
  • complex health needs

You can contact the School Health Service via their online referral form at https://www.kentcht.nhs.uk/service/school-health-service-east-sussex/ or by calling the School Health One Point (SHOP) on 0300 123 4062. This phone line is available from 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Please contact the school office if your child has any medical needs that may require an Individual Health Care Plan (IHCP).
