Our vision

Within our caring Christian community, we offer a relevant and aspirational curriculum, which gives everyone the opportunity to build firm foundations as life-long learners.

“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it”
Proverbs 22:6

Proverb 22:6 underpins and is at the heart of our curriculum and everything we do at St Leonards Church of England Primary Academy.

Be Safe
Be Respectful
Be Determined

Be Faithful

Through our core values we aim to give children a sense of confidence and belief in their own unique abilities. That’s why we’ve designed the curriculum to be as practical, creative and inspiring as possible. Every achievement is celebrated, no matter how small.

We feel a deep responsibility to nurture happy, responsible and confident young people of faith and values.

As a church Academy, we provide a Christian ethos that infuses the wider Academy community. Our teaching and reflection times focus on developing a strong culture of care, respect and empathy for one another.

Collective Worship

At St Leonards CE Primary Academy collective worship strengthens and supports the Christian ethos and identity of our school and reaffirms our vision and Christian values.

Our worship reflects the variety of traditions found within the Church of England and our parish and follows the Christian liturgical year. The daily act of worship is at the heart of our school and is supported by all staff and governors. It makes an important contribution to the overall spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of our school and celebrates the central role that each person has to play within our school community.

Spiritual Development

At St Leonards CE Primary Academy we believe in the importance of supporting our pupils in navigating their spiritual development. As our pupils grow and learn searching for meaning and purpose, spirituality helps them to flourish and set a firm foundation for life. Spiritual development helps us face and answer the ‘big’ question we encounter as we grow and the complexities we face. We believe, that through our environment and curriculum, we can offer pupils the opportunities to be spiritually curious and a safe environment where they can grow spiritually resilient.
