All members of staff are committed to providing a safe and secure environment in which children may learn. Parents and carers should be aware that the Academy will take any reasonable action to ensure the safety of its pupils.
All staff have up to date safeguarding and child protection training and work within the statutory guidance set out in ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education (September 2018)’.
In cases where the Academy has reason to be concerned that a child may be subject to ill treatment, neglect or other forms of abuse, staff members have no alternative but to follow guidance set out in ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education (September 2018)’ (page 10).
Wherever possible, parents will be informed of a referral and will be invited in to the Academy to discuss the matter. The Academy ethos is for open discussion and sharing of information, helping all parties to develop trust and understanding in difficult situations, and to work together for the benefit of the child.
